该研究综述了微塑料与有机化合物的相互作用机制,清晰地绘制了Figure(包括以下相互作用:氢键、卤键、π-π键、范德华力、静电引力、静电斥力)。研究指出:
(i)微塑料的结晶度、比表面积,微塑料和有机物的官能团、离子形态与强度是相互作用的关键因子;
(ii)使用环境相关浓度(Environmentally realistic concentration)的微塑料进行实验,十分有必要;
(iii)在自然环境中,盐度对相互作用的影响实质主要是pH的变化;
(iv)特别注意:吸附实验中,到底是符合 “线性吸附模型”还是“非线性吸附模型”,使用R2是不正确的,而应该比较两种模型的AIC值(可以用R软件中自带的AIC函数得出,或使用BIC值也行,AIC使用的更多),AIC越小,模型越好,即为所符合的吸附模型

该研究发现中国东海南部海域日本鲭鱼 (Japanese jack mackerel Trachurus japonicus)的δ15N值高于北部海域,可能南部海域更低的氮固定(lower nitrogen fixation)以及更大size的鱼体积导致其具有更高的营养级。鱼体的δ15N值的年间变化由其主要饵料决定的,浮游动物Corycaeus丰度的增加会使得鱼体的δ15N值增加,而 Oncaeidae copepodites丰度的增加则会降低鱼体的δ15N值。长江径流量的增加也可能部分解释南部海域δ15N值的下降。该研究结果有助于更好地理解中国东海鱼类的摄食习惯与迁移行为。

该研究首次在野外观察到成鱼和仔鱼之间的碳氮稳定同位素(δ13C,δ15N)的母系遗传效应(maternal effect),据此可以使用成鱼和仔鱼体内的同位素数据来判断其繁殖策略(income breeding 或 capital breeding),有助于鱼类资源保护和管理,特别是那些无法观察到胃/肠容物(即食物)的鱼类。ICES Journal of Marine Science期刊主编 Dr. Howard I. Browman在其论文Developing the knowledge base needed to sustainably manage mesopelagic resources中使用一句话介绍了我们的研究工作:Mei et al. (2019) use stable isotpe values of larvae of six mesopelagic fish, and the diet of spawning females, to categorize the spawning strategies of these species as either capital or income breeders.
